CARLSBAD / SAN DIEGO COUNTY — October 26, 2026. New Village Arts, a Carlsbad-based arts organization, has been named among 2026–27 Arts in California Parks grant recipients. Its project, Walk With Yáamay, is planned as a yearlong series of Indigenous art walks at 10 sites around Southern California, featuring original work and performances by Native artists.

The California State Parks project list identifies the organization and the regional scope, but does not name every participating location or confirm that all 10 are located inside Carlsbad. This is therefore a story about a Carlsbad community arts organization with a regional project, not a statement that 10 new events have been scheduled at Carlsbad parks.

What readers should watch

The program offers an opportunity to connect arts participation with Indigenous perspectives on land and culture in public spaces. Exact sites, artist lineups, dates and participation instructions should be confirmed through New Village Arts before planning a visit. The grant cycle runs October 2026–September 2027; award announcements are not evidence of completed performances.
